If you can handle riding in the back of a jeep or other safari-like vehicle, a trip into the Sierra Madris will let you experience and see things you wouldn't otherwise be exposed to. It's surprisingly junglelike. Arranged tours will take you through small villages that will let you see rural Mexican life.
Explore San Sebastian
San Sebastian is a remote mountain village in the Sierra Madre Mountains with lots of history (there used to be gold and silver mining here). You'll find a village with a colonial heritage, and still embracing traditional ways of life.
Get Your Fins On
There are lots of snorkelling opportunities in the area around Puerto Vallarta. The most popular spots are snorkeling areas are the Marietas Islands caverns and the underwater caves at Los Arcos. Snorkeling trips combine a day of sun, fun and entertainment, along with snorkeling at beach hideaways and secluded islands in and around beautiful Banderas Bay.
