Puerto Vallarta Airport (PVR) Public & Private Bus Transfers

The local bus serves as the Puerto Vallarta Airport bus. Apparently there aren't chickens riding this bus anymore, but it is a real local experience!

Outside the terminal, the bus stop is near the end exit (the middle exit goes to parking and airport taxis). The bus stop sign may be missing, but look for a group of locals hanging out, waiting. If you don't see any, perhaps the bus just went by: just wait and watch for the next batch to gather, or try your hand at asking. Hint: you will also see some resort buses at the same spot. 

General Puerto Vallarta Bus Tips:

South of the airport, Puerto Vallarta bus service operates along Av. Francisco Medina Ascencio (the main drag). The southbound from the marina area bus makes stops all along the "hotel zone" on the way to downtown Puerto Vallarta.

Check the sign on the bus before boarding:

• If you are going downtown, be sure to take a Centro bus (and not a Tunel bus)
• The Centro bus makes stops as it goes through on downtown (Malecon boardwalk), then carries on to the South Side Bus Terminal (Zona Romantica)
• The Tunel bus bypasses downtown on its way to the South Side Bus Terminal 
• If you are going to Parque Lázaro Cárdenas, you can take either bus, but the Tunel is faster

To go further south:

• Buses to Mismaloya and Boca de Tomatlan depart from the South Side Bus Terminal (at Constitución and Basilio Badillo)
• Buses to El Tuito and other points south leave from Agucate & Carranza 

HOLD ON! Even if the driver is still making change, the bus will start moving.
