Driving is on the right side of the road.

Driving around the Warsaw area can be difficult and fairly onerous, with high numbers of cars, poor road signs and many substandard road surfaces. Local Polish drivers often exceed the speed limits around central Warsaw and the city's trams dominate the area, always having the right of way.

 

Many of the city's fuel stations are open 24 hours a day and are also often home to small grocery stores. Traffic congestion in the city centre is becoming worse and with no ring road, much of the traffic is directed through the heart of Warsaw. However, the city is constantly trying to resolve the situation and is improving the main bottlenecks, introducing a number of new routes and bridges.

 

Street parking is a popular option in the centre of Warsaw. There are also several large underground parking garages here, including one beneath the Europlex building. Further car parks can be found at the Palace of Culture and Science, along the Ulica Marszalkowska road.
