London Stansted Airport (STN) Services & Amenities

London Stansted Airport has comprehensive facilities for disabled passengers, including:

• Reserved seating areas equipped with induction loops for hard of hearing passengers,, easy wheelchair acces, and chairs with arm rests 
• Low level information monitors for ease of vision
• Directional signs are black on yellow providing optimum contrast to assist those who are partially sighted
• Disabled toilets are available throughout the airport
• TTY telephones throughout the terminal building 
• A minicom (Tel: +44 (0)1279 663725)
• A number of staff members are trained in sign-language
• Personal shoppers to help passengers with their purchases in the shopping outlets after security

Both long and short-stay car parks have a number of disabled parking spaces for use by disabled badge-holders; they are located near the terminal building. There are help-points located in the parking bays should you require a wheelchair or assistance.

August 2013: Change in procedure for Blue Badge holders;

• Send your details 72 hours in advance of your departure, including Blue Badge number, name, date, time and vehicle registration (if known) to: customerservice@empark.es     
• An airport car park operator will call you before you depart, take payment, provide you with a unique reference number and organise access to the forecourt
• The cost of drop off remains at GBP 2 (credit or debit card); maximum drop off time is 15 minutes, vehicle cannot be leftnunattended 
• On arrival on the forecourt, pdrive up to the barrier and the barrier will automatically lift
• Proceed to the Valet bays at the far end of the forecourt (signposted ‘Official Valet’) where official personnel will be on hand to check your blue badge
• If you have any problems at the barrier, call the intercom and inform the operator of your reference number
• Car park operators have tried to accommodate, wherever possible, those travelling by taxi
