Where is Doha Hamad Airport?  

The capital of the State of Qatar, Doha, is located on the coast of the Persian Gulf.

Qatar's largest city, Doha is a modern and rapidly developing city, set to become one of the Gulf's premier cities.

Doha Hamad International Airport (IATA: XOZ, ICAO: OTHH), also referred to as New Doha International Airport, NDIA, New Doha Airport, New Qatar Airport, Doha Hamad Airport, or simply Hamad Airport, is located in Doha, Qatar. Doha Hamad Airport replaced the old Doha International Airport (DOH), which closed shortly after the opening of XOD in April 2014.

Doha Hamad Airport serves 29 million passengers a year. Later phases, under construction, will bring capacity to 50 million.

Doha Hamad Airport is a hub for Qatar Airlines. Airlines that fly to Doha Hamad Airport include Air Arabia, Air India Express, Biman Bangladesh Airlines, Flydubai, Iran Air, Nepal Airlines, Pakistan International Airlines, Syrian Air and Yemenia. 

Cities with flights to the new XOZ Airport include Chittagong, Damascus, Dhaka, Dubai, Karachi, Kathmandu, Kochi, Kozhikode, Kuwait, Lahore, Mumbai, Mangalore, Peshawar, Sana'a, Sharjah, Shiraz, Sylhet and Thiruvanathapuram.

In addition, a mosque has been built on-site, as part of the airport's design. The minaret is 37 metres high.

Doha Hamad Airport is built over 36 square kilometres (14 square miles), making it two-thirds the size of Doha city itself. Largely built on reclaimed land, Doha Hamad Airport has been designed with an oasis theme. The terminals have wave-styled roofs, water motifs, and desert plants growing in recycled water.

If you are lucky enough to fly into Doha, see if you can spot a unique building shaped like a giant yacht sail. This separate terminal, with a curved arch design, is called the Emiri Terminal, built for the exclusive use of the royal family and VIPs on state visits.
