Be aware that BC Transit has a luggage policy, which basically states that they carry passengers, not luggage. BC Transit offers public bus service to and from the Port of Swartz Bay Ferry Terminal via the 70, 72 or 73 buses to downtown. You will see the bus just to your right when you exit the terminal. 70 is an express trip, whereas 72 and 73 make stops along the way in Sidney and Saanichton. If you are heading to Butchart Gardens, take the 81 community bus, although its service is limited to eight trips per day from the Port of Swartz Bay Ferry Terminal.

Pacific Coach Lines runs service from the Port of Swartz Bay Ferry Terminal to downtown Victoria, with selected stops upon request. You MUST book this service on the ferry from Vancouver within the first 30 minutes of the voyage from the bus desk on the ferry (an announcement is always made). Seats are limited and you will board the bus on the ferry before docking. You can also take this service right from downtown Vancouver. Service is available on most, but not all, sailings. Returning to Vancouver, the Pacific Coach Lines express coach service operates from the Victoria bus depot downtown (just behind the Empress Hotel), or tickets can be purchased onboard, if you get to the ferry by other means.
Greyhound travels to various points on Vancouver Island from Victoria. Buses depart from the bus depot in downtown Victoria (just behind the Empress Hotel).
Tofino Bus Island Express offers daily express service between Victoria, Port Alberni, Nanaimo, Parksville, Ucluelet and Tofino. The service connects with Greyhound services at key transfer points on Vancouver Island. Buses depart from the Victoria bus depot, behind the Empress Hotel.
