Tijuana Airport Public Bus Details
Tijuana Airport bus service is available to downtown Tijuana.
- Go outside the airport and look for buses heading west from the other side of the marked intersection with the traffic lights.
- Take the blue and white bus
- The bus will have a sign showing “Centro” or “Plaza Rio” above the windscreen
- The ride takes about 30 minutes
Returning to the airport: from downtown (Av. Revolucion area), buses to the airport leave on the 2nd street (= Calle Benito Juarez). Look for the blue buses that have 'aeropuerto' written on the windshield.
Tip: buses need to be 'flagged down' to stop (in other words, wave at the driver to let him/her know you want to board). As the local bus system can be confusing (no posted route maps, schedules and often unmarked sometimes bus stops), allow extra time returning to the airport, or choose a different transportation to return to the airport.
Travelling to the USA and planning to walk over the pedestrian skybridge to the Cross-Border Xpress (CBX) terminal in San Diego? While there are plans to implement public transportation between CBX and central San Diego, the nearest bus stop is currently 2 kilometres (1.3 miles) north of the CBX terminal (SDMTS Rt#905 is at Airway Rd & Britannia Blvd).
