Your local drivers' licence is required.

An International Drivers' Permit (or IDP) may be required, especially if your local drivers' licence is in a language other than the local language (you may inquire when you pick up your car).

Miami has become a major beach resort, full of spectacular buildings and fast highways. Driving around the city is easy and many of the most important central streets are clearly numbered. More than 60 large parking lots are owned and maintained by the City of Miami Beach, installed with modern parking meters. Rates are charged between 30 minutes and 12 hours.

 

Further parking can be found around the streets of Miami, with approximately 10,000 parking meters currently in operation. Parking garages are also located at the Miami Convention Center and Jackie Gleason Theater of the Performing Arts. Further parking is available at the 7th Street and Collins Avenue Garage, the 12th Street and Drexel Avenue Garage, the 7th Street and Collins Avenue Garage, and the 42nd Street Garage, amongst others.
