Expect to be approached by taxi touts as soon as you exit the secure area of the Bali Denpasar Airport. Ignore them. 

 

Official Bali taxis are hired using a pre-paid voucher that is obtained from the official Bali taxi counter at the Bali Denpasar Airport exit. Voucher prices are fixed.

 

Tip: Some Bali taxi drivers will discuss Bali tours with you during your ride, but do not agree to anything until you have done your research on possible tours in Bali and if the prices offered are fair (obtaining a business card of the taxi driver is reasonable).

Non-airport taxis may be hired outside the Bali Denpasar Airport gates. Walk right out of the airport and parking area to the main road and hail a taxi there. These taxis will have meters and they should use them (if not, try another taxi).
