Nobody really wants to be stuck at an airport whether it's a long layover or a delayed flight. But if you are left waiting at Dallas Fort Worth International Airport at least there are some entertaining and interesting things to do, within striking distance of the airport, to help pass the time.

Grapevine

Just a short ride from Dallas Fort Worth Airport is the quaint city of Grapevine. This suburb of Fort Worth has a wide range of dining options as well as famous locations such as the wineries and the vintage railroad. You can visit entertainment centers, the Palace Art Center or the Grapevine outdoor market. Take a quick taxi ride from the airport to enjoy the tastes of the city. Whatever you fancy, Grapevine seems to have it all.

Main Event Entertainment

This enormous family entertainment center features bowling, billiards, arcade games, and laser tag, surely something to keep everyone busy for a few hours. They also offer a variety of meal selections and custom-order buffets. So if you fancy a bit of lively fun and a meal while you are there, why not jump in a taxi for the ten minute ride to Main Event Entertainment from Dallas Fort Worth International Airport and work off some energy. Grapevine Market

The popular, seasonal open-air Grapevine Market makes its return to Historic Downtown Grapevine in April and is open every Thursday and Saturday from 0900 to 1400 until mid October. You can find an eclectic array of items at Grapevine Market from quality antiques and the finest handmade jewelry to distinctive home décor and more. Peruse the unique displays and indulge in something special but make sure you keep it small so it can go in your hand luggage.

Grapevine Historical Museum

Open Monday to Saturday 0900 to 1700 and Sunday Midday to 1700 the Grapevine Historical Museum offers a fascinating look at the history of the area with particular emphasis on collecting, preserving and interpreting objects, structures and documents which were used within the area by the people who explored, founded, lived in, developed, wandered across regularly or camped within the Grapevine Area.
