Saskatoon International Airport

Where is Saskatoon Airport?

An oasis among wheat fields of central Saskatchewan, Saskatoon is located on the South Saskatchewan River. The University of Saskatchewan is home to The Canadian Light Source, Canada's only synchrotron.

Saskatoon's many bridges, Art Nouveau architecture and rich culture have earned the city the nickname of the Paris of the Prairies. Saskatoon will step onto the world art stage in 2015 with the opening of the Remai Art Gallery, featuring one of the largest collection of works by Pablo Picasso.

Saskatoon International Airport (IATA: YXE, ICAO: CYXE), officially John G. Diefenbaker International Airport, John G. Diefenbaker Airport or J. G. Diefenbaker Airport, sometimes referred to as S'toon Airport, or simply Saskatoon Airport is located in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, Canada. For international arrivals, the airport is staffed by the Canada Border Services Agency.

With 1,246,405 passengers served in 2011, Saskatoon Airport is the 14th busiest airport in Canada. YXE Airport is currently a major expansion that will double the size of the terminal by 2014. The improvements are part of a 10-year, CAD 105 million overall airport capital plan that will include new runways and will be completed in 2018.

In February 2013, WestJet announced that its new WestJet Encore brand will operate regularly scheduled service between Saskatoon Airport and Calgary International Airport (YYC). Service starts June 24, 2013.

Airlines that fly to Saskatoon Airport include Air Canada, Air Canada Express, Delta Connection, Pronto Airways, Transwest Air, United Express and WestJet.
