The improvements are part of a 10-year, CAD 105 million overall airport capital plan that will include new runways and will be completed in 2018.

In February 2013, WestJet announced that its new WestJet Encore brand will operate regularly scheduled service between Saskatoon Airport and Calgary International Airport (YYC). Service starts June 24, 2013.
