• Leave extra time, as you may find the route maps can be a bit cryptic, and there is infrequent service on some Karwa routes
• Be aware that buses frequently run behind schedule
• Pay attention to the dedicated sections at the front of buses for women and families
• There are some routes that are used predominantly by male labourers (e.g. serving industrial areas) - avoid these if you are a woman 
• Karwa route maps are only available at the main bus station (Al Ghanim, near the Gold Souq)

There is a Doha Hamad Airport bus that operates to/from Doha International Airport (DOH)    , which will be helpful if you have connecting flights, but split between the old and new airports.
