Multan Airport (MUX) Information

Where is Multan Airport?  

Known as the City of Sufis, Multan is rich with bazaars, mosques, shrines, and ornate tombs.

Multan is situated in the geographic centre of the country, and is a major transport hub. The area is known for its many crops, including Multan is famous for its crops, ranging from wheat and cotton, to mangoes and sugar cane.

Multan International Airport (IATA: MUX, ICAO: OPMT), officially Muhammad Bin Qasim International Airport or Muhammad Bin Qasim Airport, or simply Multan Airport, is located in the Cantonment area, 10 kilometres (6.2 miles) from Multan city centre, in Punjab, Pakistan. MUX also serves the cities of Multan, Vehari, Khanewal, Muzaffargarh, Rajanpur and Sahiwal.

The old airport is in the process of being replaced with a new Multan Airport consisting of new terminal buildings, runways and cargo facilties. Construction and financial issues have delayed the opening, now projected to take place in March 2015.

Limited information is available on transportation options serving the new facility, so, for now, expect to take a taxi.
