Where is Kuala Lumpur Airport?  

Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) (IATA: KUL, ICAO: WMKK), also referred to as Kuala Lumpur Airport, KUL Airport, or KLIA Airport, is in located at Sepang, Selangor, about 50 kilometres (31 miles) south of central Kuala Lumpur, in the Greater Klang Valley, Malaysia.

While KLIA is not an official airport code, this acronym is used widely to refer to the airport, and is even incorporated into the airport's branding.

On May 2, 2014, an immense new low-cost carrier terminal, nicknamed klia2, opened at Kuala Lumpur International Airport (aka KLIA). KLIA2 replaces the former Low-Cost Carrier Terminal (LCCT) as of May 9, 2014.

klia2 is located 2 kilometres (1.2 miles) from away from the main terminal, or KLIA1. Gateway@klia2, an integrated "airport-within-a-mall" complex, the KLIA2 Terminal to KLIA's Main Terminal Building (MTB).The Gateway@klia2 transportation hub offers connections via the KLIA Express, or Express Rail Link (ERL).

In 2013, Kuala Lumpur Airport served 47,498,157 passengers. The city's other airport, Subang Airport (SUB) (which formerly used the IATA code KUL), handles general aviation and turbo-prop flights.

KLIA1: Airlines that fly to KLIA1 include Air France, Bangkok Airways, Cathay Pacific, China Airlines, Emirates, EVA Air, Japan Airlines, KLM, Korean Air, Lufthansa, Malaysia Airlines, Shanghai Airlines, Singapore Airlines, Thai Airways, Turkish Airlines, United Airways and Vietnam Airlines.

KLIA2: Airlines that fly to KLIA2 include AirAsia, AirAsia Zest, AirAsia X, Cebu Pacific, Indonesia AirAsia, Lion Air, Malindo Air, ThaiAirAsia, Thai Lion Air and TigerAir Mandala.

IMPORTANT: Make sure you know which terminal your flight is arriving at, or departing from: KLIA1 or KLIA2. The latter, klia2 is located 2 kilometres (1.2 miles) from away from KLIA1, the main terminal building (MTB). An integrated "airport-within-a-mall" complex, Gateway@klia2, connects the two.
