Aviano Air Base (IATA: AVB, ICAO: LIPA), a NATO Air Base under U.S.A. Force administration, is located in Aviano municipality, in the Friuli-Venezia Giulia region, in Pordenone Province, Italy. The Aviano AB military facility is located about 15 kilometres from the city of Pordenone.

The Aviano Air Force Base is considered the birthplace of Italian aviation.

There are no civilian or commercial flights from AVB.

Venice Marco Polo Airport is the closest international airport. From there you can take a train from Venice to Pordenone. Pordenone to Aviano would be by bus or taxi. Pordenone to Aviano is about 15 minutes maximum by car or taxi.
